PAMELA Singh Bhutoria  who had a brief stint in Kahaani, playing the receptionist who helped Vidya Balan break into an office to get the IP address of a suspect’s computer. The actress was currently seen in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3, with stars like Sanjay Dutt, Jimmy Sheirgill, Mahie Gill & Chitrangada Singh. She gets talking about her character and more…

What got you take the role in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3?

My character is of a strong, sensible, intelligent, sharp, tech-savvy girl who has a strong sense of duty and holds her father’s loyalties in high regard. I have more than one reason to be excited…
-An award winning director
-Actors whose craft one can’t flaw
-To be a part of a franchise I have been a huge fan of
-And to get to do what I love the most for a medium which disregards the slightest bit of dishonesty

You play Jimmy’s right hand in the movie. Playing someone’s right hand is a role usually is a role reserved for men in the industry? Do you agree? Do we call this a change?

There’s a wave of change churning around the world in terms of women representation and the Indian cinema is also not far behind. There’s a need for every kind of woman to be represented in our stories. I am a bitch, I am a lover, I am a child, I am a mother, I am a sinner, I am a saint, I do not feel ashamed. I am your health, I am your dream and everything in between… and I do not feel ashamed!

Were you skeptical to do a movie where there are already two heroines?

No, I wasn’t, because her weapon of choice is not her feminine wiles.

Can you share your most cherished memory from the sets of
Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3?

Every moment, being directed by Tigmanshu sir and sharing screen space with Jimmy was memorable.

How was it working with Jimmy?

I had to tell myself to sit still and absorb… sit and learn. He is the nicest gentleman I have met, a thorough professional. He would do his lines, no matter who they are with. He will help you rehearse. You meet him and he gives you this great vibe.

You have worked with Amitabh Bachchan for an ad recently. How was the experience?

It was a sheer realisation that I was actually doing something which almost every aspiring entertainer dreams to do in this magical city.

You were seen in a small role in Kahaani with Vidya Balan. Did it help you get noticed?

What is a small role? Of course, it did, I have been a Kahaani girl for a while now.

Vidya Balan, Sanjay Dutt, Amitabh Bachchan – you have worked with the superstars… who’s next?

Oh that is going to be a long list – Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Irrfan Khan and it goes on. Shoojit Sircar, Anurag Kashyap, Rajkumar Hirani, Aditya Motwane, Nitesh Tiwari… I can go on…
